Snowmageddon Commute This Week

The crazy weather conditions in western Washington made for some crazy driving conditions the last couple days. Fortunately there were not a lot of folks out trying to get around so it was not as bad as it could have been. Some video showing how bad the roads were:

Flooding in North Snohomish County 11-23-2011

Some video and photos I shot this afternoon showing some of the light flooding around Arlington, Silvana and North Snohomish County. Not as bad as we had the last couple years but still shutting down roads in the area.

Fresh snow near Darrington

Went for a little drive Saturday up to Darrington and made the loop back through Concrete and Sedro Woolley. Felt more like a fall/winter day than a spring afternoon. Still made for a great drive and I was able to take a lot of photos.

I am lucky to have all this just a few minutes from my front door.

"Wind Storm" hits the region.

We were warned of a big storm that was to hit our area today. High winds, power outages, dangerous driving conditions were part of the forecast. So I had all my gear ready to record the devastation, went for a drive and frankly was not too impressed. It was gusty and definetly windy, but nothing like the kind of windstorm I was expecting.

Regardless, here is some video I shot around the Arlington airport, Marysville and Everett:

Office Babes of Harris Ford- Circa 1984

In 1984 I was 17 years old, working at Harris Ford in Lynnwood, WA as a "Shop Boy", basically I cleaned the floors of the service department, swept up stuff, emptied garbage cans, and various janitorial duties. Crappy job but it gave me a discount on all Ford parts which I took advantage of.

Last week my dad found this old photo christmas card from 1984, I guess the dealership sent it to him since he bought a few cars from them over the years.

Anyhow seeing this card brought back some memories, I clearly remember 3 of the five ladies in this photo, I was just a kid in the shop but I'd have to run into the offices to grab keys or run paperwork around for the service department. Classic Lynnwood 1980's hair and makeup here.

Here is the full Christmas Card, click on it for a larger view:
